National Jewish Health researcher, Dennis Voelker, PhD, explains how our molecules block viruses and prevent diseases like the flu.
A surprising aspect of the molecules we study is that they also directly interact with viruses. And their interaction with viruses prevent these viruses from binding to the cells in the lung where the viruses need to enter in order to replicate and grow, and from the human perspective, cause disease.
