Best Practices in Caring for Patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF): A Multi-disciplinary Approach to Optimize Care is a free online program featuring leading experts in the field of  idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

This online activity will include a multi-specialty case discussion addressing guideline-based diagnosis of IPF. To supplement the case-based discussion, slide narrations related to the multi-disciplinary management and treatment of IPF as well as patient perspective videos are included.

Journals Publish Articles on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)

“Understanding the informational needs of patients with IPF and their caregivers: ‘You get diagnosed, and you ask this question right away, what does this mean?’” has been published in the February 2018 issue of BMJ Open Quality. The article summarizes the results of data gleaned from focus groups that were comprised of patients with IPF and their caregivers. It was written by faculty and staff from National Jewish Health, the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Denver Health. Click here to view the article.

”An educational initiative to improve the team-based care of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis” has been published in the February 2018 issue of ERJ Open Research. The article provides an overview of a performance improvement initiative conducted by the Office of Professional Education in collaboration with the Interstitial Lung Disease Program at National Jewish Health. This program led to improved documentation of best care practices for patients with IPF, as well as adjustments to the EMR that support sustainability. Click here to view the article.
